About the role: 

We’re looking for a Finance Lead to join our team and help us grow and strengthen our finance function.  This role reports into the Head of Finance.  

This is a pivotal hands-on role where you will not only oversee day-to-day financial operations and compliance but also play a leading role in the strategic development of our financial operations, controls and reporting to support our rapid Series A growth.  

This role is perfectly suited for an ambitious, hands-on professional seeking to elevate their career by taking on financial management responsibility within a rapidly expanding startup.

What you'll do

• Manage the day to day financial control framework, ensuring accurate and compliant financial record-keeping, whilst actively seeking opportunities to strengthen controls 

• Oversee financial operations AP/AR, payment approval and cash flow management.

• Manage banking operations, payment flows and bank reconciliations.

• Communicate and collaborate with external accountants and payroll providers.

• Oversee contractor and employee payments across multiple locations

• Ensure compliance with Hungarian tax regulations, partnering with external advisers for timely and accurate tax filings

• Support the preparation of financial statements, management information and board/investor reporting.

• Support FP&A activities focused on key SaaS metrics, revenue streams and subscriptions. 

• Drive process optimization, implementing scalable, automated solutions and strengthening internal controls

• Assisting in end-year closure and audit processes

What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with proven experience in accounting or finance roles in Hungary.  Experience in Software/SaaS is an advantage.

• Critical thinker who can use strong analytical skills to interpret financial data.

• Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulations.

• Knowledge of Hungarian tax laws and regulations.

• Experience with accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets.

• Ability to work independently, own projects and deliver high quality outputs.

• Fluent in English
